What I believe about therapy

Therapy is a place where you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, others, and the world around you. When a client walks through my doors, it is a privilege to understand their story and it is my job to understand them as a whole. Not every individual views the world the same way, therefore it is important for me to tailor each session to the uniqueness of each client, their perspective, and circumstances. I believe that therapy is about growing and learning, in addition to healing wounds. There is power in not only learning the tools to manage symptoms but also in combining them with learning more about yourself and applying them to your history. I will help you look at patterns in your past that can still manifest in your current life, and help you better understand who you are and bring forth a healthy lifestyle so that you can be the best version of yourself.

Through psychoeducational tools such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, as well as creative outlets including art and innovative approaches, I tailor each individual’s treatment based on previous life experiences and future goals. I also value the benefits that Feminist Theory can offer to individuals of color and minority background who can encounter disparities in the mental health system. It is my purpose to create an inclusive, safe, and educational space for you and I look forward to hearing your story.

We’re a team of compassionate therapists skilled in treating anxiety, depression, and relational issues in downtown Chicago.
